Student Life

Student activities at Archbishop McCarthy High School provide the student with opportunities for exploration in areas of interest that can compensate and transcend the course of study in the classroom. In these activities, students are able to learn to express themselves, to respect others, to work toward a common goal, and to develop their God-given gifts and talents.

Our school offers a wide and varied program to meet these objectives through academic, artistic, athletic, religious and service activities. Of course, student participation in extracurricular activities is highly encouraged, but it is also widely experienced, with more than 90 percent of the present student body involved in some activity. However, it should be remembered that success is not measured by the number of actives in which a student participates, but rather the level of commitment to each. The sum total of this participation and support is the yardstick by which much of the school spirit is measured.
