Booster Club

HOW THE ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB HELPS OUR ATHLETES :

PURPOSE:

The Booster Club shall exist for the purpose of broadening the involvement of students, their parents or legal guardians, their families, and the school through support for all student activities of the Maverick Athletic Programs. The Booster Club works to achieve this through active participation of as many parents or legal guardians as possible in Booster Club programs and events and works closely with the coaches, athletic director, the principal and Athletic Department at Archbishop McCarthy High School, the Administration and the Archdiocese of Miami. The Booster Club is a voluntary organization and its actions are subject to the review and approval of Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School and the Archdiocese of Miami.

The Booster Club will do the following:

  1. Support, promote, and maintain a high standard of integrity and good sportsmanship in all athletic activities
  2. Promote and encourage all students to be involved in athletics, either as an active participant or as a volunteer assistant
  3. Promote and encourage better attendance at all sports activities by the parents, families, friends, facility and administration of Archbishop McCarthy High School
  4. Raise funds to assist athletic programs
  5. Assist in meeting the expenses of various athletic programs by volunteer services and other means

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Purchase school awards for all recognized school teams (every year); wall pads in the gym; $25,000.00 to help surface the track; original batting cages for baseball and softball fields; help finance the construction of all four dugouts; golf cart, help with the cost of maintenance of bleachers, baskets and re-surfacing of the gym floor; over $30,000.00 towards the construction of the wrestling hut, much needed training equipment for football, soccer, tennis, softball, swimming, and volleyball; help offset our coaches expenses for clinics; over $3,000.00 for weight plates; $20,000.00 to purchase new weight equipment for the new Fitness Center; meal money for sports who travel in the playoffs; audio visual equipment; used wrestling mat; purchase of flag pole for main field; financed the installation of the baseball and softball scoreboards; appliances for concession stand; district & regional patches; State Championship rings for our five individual champions; portable watering station; windscreen for athletic fields; assist in purchase of John Dere Gator; aluminum benches; surface repair of track; record board for track and swimming; district and regional banners in the gym; shoot away for basketball; raise fenc on softball field; purchase flag pole for softball; purchase additional golf cart
